Oakdene Hollins is in fashion in Scandinavia

Our textiles expert Kate Riley will be at three events in Denmark and Sweden on 10-12 May, focusing on sustainability in the fashion industry.

Dr Kate Riley, Oakdene Hollins' Technical Consultant in Textiles, is off to Copenhagen and Malmö in mid-May to meet up with other enthusiasts for sustainability in the textiles sector.

Kate will be in Malmö on 10th May attending the Nordic Network on Sustainable Procurement in the Health Sector. This is a particular area of interest for Kate, whose PhD at De Montfort University was on Improving the Sustainability of Domestically Laundered Healthcare Uniforms.  Her research identified the most suitable fibre type for health-care uniforms to improve end-of-life disposal options.

She's then off over the bridge to Copenhagen for the Planet Textiles Sustainable Textiles Summit on the 11th, and the Copenhagen Fashion Summit on the 12th May. Kate will be talking to partners from the RESYNTEX project based at Manchester Metropolitan University, but she's also there looking to create new partnerships and reconnect with old friends, so do seek her out.

For more information about what Oakdene Hollins is doing to help companies find a better way to dispose of their corporate wear at the end of its life, visit our UniformReuse website, or email Kate.
