Dr. Rachel Waugh wins Thornton Medal
Congratulations to consultant Dr. Rachel Waugh, winner of an IOM3 Special and Publication Award.
The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining celebrates the breadth of materials production, processing, structure, properties and applications - and their inter-relationships - at an annual Awards Dinner. Recipients from all over the world were at the awards ceremony on 17 October 2017 at which Rachel was presented with a medal.
The Thornton Medal was awarded to Rachel for her presentation on the subject of global steel production at the IOM3's Steel Strategy Seminar on 24 November 2016. The topic of her presentation was 'the Economics of blast furnace versus arc furnace steel production', a subject Rachel has continued to develop her expertise in after completing her PhD on the environmental impact of the global steel industry at Cambridge University.
Oakdene Hollins is intensely proud to include Rachel as one of our team of expert consultants.
