Guidance on methodologies for modelling reuse and remanufacture in LCA Studies
The World Steel Association, worldsteel, has created a Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) database of steel products. This database is intended to be used for life cycle assessment (LCA) studies involving steel products. The purpose of this document is to provide guidance on how to model reuse and remanufacture aspects within the context of the life cycle of a product that uses steel. Although some specific approaches are suggested in this document based on the type of study being conducted, it is important to note that this document is advisory only and alternative methods are valid depending on the goals and scope of the LCA study. This guidance document and the guidance on methodologies has been critically reviewed by Oakdene Hollins and Metsims.
