Announcement to Staff and Clients June 2024
To Staff and Clients of Oakdene Hollins Ltd
Simon Scholes has today agreed to become the new owner of Oakdene Hollins. Following a meeting at Hartwell House in Buckinghamshire, Simon concluded terms to acquire the entire equity in the company. Once the formal legalities have been completed by 30th June 2024, David Fitzsimons will move to become an Associate of the company. Shortly after receiving a long service award, David said "It is exactly 30 years since I founded Oakdene Hollins and am delighted that Simon, a senior member of our staff, will become the new owner. Simon has many years of experience managing businesses that recycle plastics and will have my on-going support to deliver great work for our clients as they respond to the regulatory and customer requirements for improved sustainability and circular economy services."
Simon added "This is an exciting new chapter in both the story of Oakdene Hollins and my own career. The history and depth of science-based work that has helped companies, institutions and trade bodies tread more lightly on our planet is what drew me to join the business in 2023. David has spent 30 years building a team and network who provide sustainability and circular economy guidance, support and advice to clients throughout the UK, Europe and across the world. The opportunity to take on the leadership of such a great team was one not to be missed. I am grateful to Davids’ support in enabling a smooth transition and for his commitment to remaining part of the Oakdene Hollins network for some time to come. We remain steadfast in the mission to be the trusted partner to our clients and the creation of the best path to a better and a more sustainable future. I am really looking forward to what comes next and building on such a strong foundation."
