Stewardship Scheme Development
A product trade association and its members were concerned that a mandatory Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) policy would be applied to their product category. Oakdene Hollins were commissioned to develop the evidence based in support of a voluntary product stewardship scheme operated by the industry for said product. The project involved stakeholder engagement (interviews with local authority recycling officers, product producers, waste management companies, etc) to provide the data so that a fully costed model could be developed, demonstrating how this scheme would operate.
If you or your industry are looking to be forward thinking with a stewardship scheme, and wish to reduce the risk of an external, enforced EPR, get in touch with our team to find out how we can support you.
